The Panther Enthusiasts Club UK

Essex Area

Back to Home

Welcome to the PEC Essex Area web page. Our aim with this page is to keep you informed of events being attended and/or organised by Essex members which perhaps aren't in the main events page and to provide a means of communication for Panther owners or would be Panther owners in the area. Virtually all Essex Area events are advertised in the main events web page. However, exceptions could be social events that are mainly intended for Essex area members, such as a local BBQ or the Christmas dinner. Having said that it is unlikely that any PEC member would be "turned away" should they express a wish to attend.

On December 23rd the Essex Area joined the CVCM for a Christmas Dinner at The Lodge. Around 70 people attended the festivities and of these 11 were on the PEC table. It was quite a lively evening and the organisers tested our memories with a quiz relating to the cars of the 60's and 70's. Unfortunately, the collective brains of our 11 members didn't quite get all the questions right, we failed to remember in what TV series the Pontiac Firebird featured.  How well you enjoyed your meal apparently depended on what you ordered. I had the traditional Christmas fare and it was fine other apparently didn't fare as well! On our table was Mark and Collette Kingswell, Cliff and Yvonne Benton, Peter and Leigh Heales, Tony and George Ansell, Dave Turner and Roy and Jennifer Biddle. The event continued until quite late, in fact too late for most of us and stalwarts Tony and George were given the responsibility of collecting the presents from the raffle. We hope it was worth the wait Tony and George!

You wouldn't think so to look at this lot, but it was quite a lively evening. To make matters worse, the only one smiling is Mark

and he didn't enjoy his dinner!

Regular Meeting:  Held on the last Thursday of each month at The Lodge off the A132 South Woodham Ferrers road.  Members arrive from 7:00pm onwards. This is the venue of the monthly Chelmer Valley Car Meet and there are usually several clubs and classic cars present to add interest to the evening.
