Essex Area
Jaguar Classic Car Show
Battlesbridge Essex 6th August 2006
The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club (Essex Thameside Region) once again invited us to attend their Battlesbridge event. It is not a huge event, but it is in a pleasant location just behind the Battlesbridge Antique Centre so there is still plenty to see and do. As usual our club was well represented with 15 cars on display. Local cars made up the bulk of the display, but it was pleasing to see 4 cars come all the way from Hampshire to attend the event. George did a grand job of describing the various Panther models over the roving mike and I feel we will getting another invitation from Colin Field of the Jaguar club to attend next year.
The festivities did not end at the closing of the show, Malcolm and Liz invited everyone back to their house for a barbeque and did us proud. Parking had been arranged in the field adjacent to their house and they had even "roped in" the neighbours to help out and ensure we had a good time. They succeeded.
George will no doubt have some photographs on the main club website, but I thought you might also like to see these.

I don't know what Doll was drinking but she looked very happy |

I must get one of these - no messy griddle or bars to clean - no flipping meat over every so often and runs off a U2 battery. The meat was cooked beautifully - well done Malcolm. |
Malcolm and Liz's guests munching, talking and drinking - in moderation of course |
Another view of the social gathering |
Grandad Bob and Grandma Josie joined in the fun. Josie had the dubious pleasure of the Panther Enthusiasts rendering of "Happy birthday to you". Fancy having to share your birthday with us lot |
It was a great day, magnificent turn out of cars, good weather and company and all rounded off with an enjoyable evening at Malcolm and Liz's. Well done you two - same time next year? A big thank you also goes to neighbours, the grand parents and children for entertaining us and making us feel so welcome. |
